Brace yourselves, Pakistan! A fresh wave of westerly winds is set to sweep across the country starting tomorrow night, bringing rain and the potential for flash flooding in certain areas.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts rain showers across Balochistan from Wednesday, April 24th, lasting through Saturday, April 27th. Heavy downpours are expected in some locations, particularly Quetta, Ziarat, Shirani, Musakhel, Nushki, Pashin, Harnai, Zhob, Barkhan, Kohlu, and Sabi. Residents in these areas should be prepared for thunderstorms alongside the rain.
The PMD further advises that rain is likely in Gwadar, Kech, Awaran, Chagai, Kharan, Kalat, Mastung, Jhal Magsi, Nasirabad, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Qila Saifullah, and Qila Abdullah.
The possibility of flooding becomes particularly concerning between April 26th and 27th, with rivers in Nushki, Pashin, Harnai, Barkhan, Gwadar, Kech, and Awaran facing an increased flood risk.
Moving north, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can expect a different story. The PMD forecasts rain, hail, and even snowfall in the mountainous regions from Thursday night until Monday.
Finally, Sindh will see a rise in dust and experience gusty winds. Light rain is also a possibility in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qamber Shahdadkot, Jamshoro, and Sanghar on Thursday and Friday.
Stay informed and follow updates from the PMD for the most recent weather forecasts and potential warnings.
